Brooke was invited to audition in March 2004 for the part as Sophie Webster at Coronation Street following Emma Woodward left the soap. Brooke was offered the role on the 12th May, and she made her first appearance in public. Brooke has studied drama at Manchester after she graduated in Fairfield High School for Girls. Brooke has a weekend job as a hairdresser working in a nearby salon in addition to playing in the show Coronation Street. Brooke stated on This Morning in 2009 that while she liked her Saturday work, she had trouble answering the phone because she had"a common voice" "common accent".
