Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who was able to transcend over from country music to mainstream pop culture and become an iconic figure in the pop world. The singer also swept all over the world in the process. Swift has thrown off her roots in the country as if it were a second-skin, showing herself to be the most savvy pop singer/songwriter in her generation. She is able to tap into the current trend and create her unique. This was evident in her earliest hits especially the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out her true identity and in the process finding an audience of mass. Fearless became a big hit not only in America with it's Top Ten singles Love Story and Belong with Me helped it to achieve six platinum records but also around the world. The album was particularly successful in Canada, Australia and the U.K. Speak Now delivered almost two years later, which consolidated the popularity and pushed Swift to the heights of stardom. Over the next three years, her popularity was growing through the years -three times - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) during which time she moved into a world of pop music in which her talent was already well established. She was in the forefront of pop until she reverted to her style with her sibling albums folklore & Evermore in 2020.
